Peak is a fourteen-year-old boy who loves rappelling. One day, he rappelled off a skyscraper and got arrested. He nearly ended up behind bars, but his father Joshua Wood got him out and offered him to climb Mount Everest. Peak wanted to take the opportunity and led him to meet Sun-jo, and embark on an adventure of a lifetime.
Sun-jo
Sun-jo is Zopa's fourteen-year old grandson. He is very experienced in climbing and proceeds to climb Everest with Peak, Josh and everyone else. He wants to summit Everest for different reasons than Peak (You need to read the book to understand).
HollyAngelo
Holly comes from a rich family, from which comes high expectations. She decided to become a journalist and to let people know that the truth should be told. She wanted to do a cover story on Peak. She had to force Josh Wood into letting her come with them. She Holly did not appreciate the other people that came on the trip, she thought of them as nosey. But as the climb continued, she began to take a liking for them.
Zopa
Zopa is a Sherpa monk in Nepal. He encourages Sun-jo to climb with Peak and Josh because he knows Josh well and has worked with him. He is a former mountain climber. He can predict the weather like a "hound." He is old on the outside, but like a young man on the inside.
JoshWood
Josh Wood is Peak's father. Josh came into Peak's life after his arrest. He knew he enjoyed climbing, so he took him to climb Everest. But, there were some strings attached. Josh owns a company that helps people climb mountains, rappell etc. Letting Peak climb eEverest would greatly enhence the company's popularity and desire for product use/business.
